Historische Stube
The smaller and more intimate Historic Parlour (Historische Stube) on the second floor of the Historisches Kaufhaus is a real insider’s tip: Decorated and furnished in the 19th century, it was lovingly designed and restored in the “period style”. It truly represents a genuine work of art, set up in the redoubt building by the Breisgau “Schau-ins-Land” Historical Society, which was founded in 1873. The original room furnishings reflect the Victorian-period view of the Late Middle Ages in a humorous and ironical way.
